Flanking: Where does it begin?

Описание к видео Flanking: Where does it begin?

In this video, we examine where you are truly flanking an enemy. In ESO, this seldom mentioned mechanic is only really relevant in a handful of scenarios, as not many abilities or sets use flanking. However, it is still good knowledge to have on hand, particularly if you want to make use of the ability Camouflaged Hunter.

Using the amazing add-on Essential Housing Tools to line things up, and using Camouflaged Hunter to keep track of when we are flanking the dummy, we come to conclusion that (at least for the wording "flanking") the "flanking area" for an enemy begins at about 45 degrees away from the enemy, if we use the direction the enemy is facing as our 0 degree starting mark. If we draw a circle around the enemy, this is basically a 90 degree "slice" of that circle.

So our flanking area is relatively large, at least larger than the typically assumed 180 degree behind the enemy. For sets and abilities that mention flanking from behind, you have a lot of leeway with proccing those sets and abilities. For Dragonguard Elite, assuming this is consistent, then just invert the "slice" from flanking and you'll have your proc area.
