Cheque Bounce Case: Delhi HC Grants Interim Suspension Of Sentence To Rajpal Yadav

Rajpal Yadav and his wife faced conviction in 2018 under the Negotiable Instruments Act for issuing cheques worth Rs 5 crore to M/s Murali Projects Pvt Ltd for a film production loan that failed. A magisterial court sentenced him to six months' imprisonment, upheld in 2019 by a sessions court. The HC had previously suspended the sentence in June 2024 pending settlement efforts, but revoked it on February 2, 2026, due to repeated payment defaults, ordering surrender by February 4.
