Which is the best inhaler for treating asthma attacks? How do you actually deal with asthma attacks? Normally most asthmatic patients would use a salbutamol (i.e. Ventolin) inhaler, but in some cases this may not be enough or other strategies may be used. For example some may use the same controller inhaler as a reliever (SMART - single maintenance and reliever therapy). Other patients may need to use a spacer with their salbutamol inhaler, or perhaps a nebulizer. It's really important to talk to your doctor about how to best manage asthma attacks in your case - to be prepared in case it happens.
