Hilton Garden Inn Kyoto Shijo Karasuma | 2024 Hotel Review & Recommendations

This is my review of the Hilton Garden Inn in Kyoto Shijo Karasuma.

The location was great. This hotel is in a central location, close to the Kawaramachi shopping district, subway stations, and bus stops. It just north of Kyoto Station if you are traveling from Tokyo by the High Speed Train. It is very convenient for exploring the city's many tourist attractions and things to do in Kyoto. The staff were so polite and tried their best to communicated with us in English. They were able to answer all of our questions without any issues. We received a slight room upgrade with Hilton Gold membership.

Our room felt incredibly clean and comfortable. The beds are western style and very soft. The rooms were very well-maintained.

The breakfast is was the best part! There were tons of fresh options. There were traditional Japanese dishes as well as Western ones.

The hotel's modern amenities were great. There was a decent gym and free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel.

If you are deciding on where to stay in Kyoto, I would highly recommend this hotel.

Kyoto has a wide array of Japanese food experiences. From Michelin-starred restaurants to must-visit food halls such as the Nishiki Market.

Don't miss the famous historic Gion district. It's great for ending your day with nightly walks along the river or going shopping at all the stores.

This is also a great base location if you plan on visiting Osaka on a day trip. If you go during the weekend, you must take the Kyo-Train GARAKU. It's a beautify train with compartments themed after the four seasons. There's even a garden in one of the train carts. There's a few stations you can get on the train in Kyoto. The first station would be the Kyoto-Kawaramachi Station.
