Theme from Probe / Search (cover)

Описание к видео Theme from Probe / Search (cover)

In 1972, a movie aired on NBC-TV called "Probe." This was a pilot for a potential TV series. The pilot was successful and the pilot did go to series. Unfortunately, in 1972, there was already a TV series called "Probe," so the series was renamed "Search." After the initial airing of "Probe," subsequent airings ditched the "Probe' name in the credits and replaced it with "Search." Unfortunately, they also cut up the credits so that now, much of what used to appear in the opening credits for the movie, now appeared at the end. This meant that Dominic Frontiere's opening score was decidedly butchered in subsequent airings.

This video serves to rememdy that. This is the opening credits for the pilot, "Search," as you have never seen them before... as they should have appeared when the pilot's name was changed to match the series.

The movie was about a high-tech investigations company called World Securities who uses Agents, called Probes, to solve various international cases. It starred Hugh O'Brian as Lockwood, a high-tech private eye who was outfitted with two electronic implants. One was to hear what was being said at HQ, and a dental contact he could bite to communicate with HQ. Lockwood carried another device, a button-sized "scanner" that combined a micro-miniaturized television camera that could also see in infrared spectrum, a microphone, medical sensors, and a transmitter, putting him in constant contact with a room full of experts who monitored his actions and vital signs and supplied him with encyclopedic information.

My arrangement of the theme from Probe/Search is based upon the original arrangement that appeared in the pilot when it was first aired. I used Magix Music Maker 2025 Premium along with the BBC Symphony Orchestra Core instrument set, EDIROL, and more. Mixing and mastering were done with Audacity. The video portions were rendered using Cyberlink Power Director 15, and some of the elements were created in Paint Shop Pro X8. Everything is running on a Windows 10-based Dell workstation.

I hope you enjoy viewing and listening as much as I enjoyed putting it all together.
