Photographer Explores Abandoned Army-Navy Hospital Photography and Hears Ghost Stories

Описание к видео Photographer Explores Abandoned Army-Navy Hospital Photography and Hears Ghost Stories

Part 2 of our Hot Springs Arkansas adventure! We explore the mysterious Hot Springs Army/Navy Hospital. This facility sits atop a small hill overlooking boathouse row and most of Hot Springs. Built in 1933 and closed in 1960, it also served as a state run rehab facility in recent years. We met this security guard who gave us a “tell all” on what really happens here. Many cards encounter strange apparitions, see doors opening and closing, and orbs to name a few. Some experiences actually even caught on video! We do some nice architectural photography of this iconic place as well on the Leica M11 and 35mm Steel Rim Summilux.

I am documenting the decay on a black and white medium the fade of iconic American roadside sights, mixed in with the landscape and portrait shots of the people we meet along the way. This project was inspired by a combination of inspiration from the photography greats in street photography, landscape photography, new topographic photography, and portrait photography. This photographic project isn’t limited to a genre, disciple, or discipline, but rather being able to adapt the variability of life as it comes your way.

I shoot with Leica cameras and many Leica and Voightlander lenses. I am a big fan of vintage lenses and the lens designer Walter Mandler. My everyday carry is the Leica 35mm Summilux Steel Rim reissue. More on Leica photo equipment in practical use in coming episodes.
