Welcome to this newly renovated HDB at Marine Parade, where he showcases the Modern Oriental theme ✨ We go on a walkthrough of this home featuring earthy tones and an organic colour palette.

ABOUT THIS HOME

The home tour starts at the foyer, which is a private space before entering the house. Ben speaks about his challenges importing the double door from Bali. Rustic wood accents and vintage door locks embrace the look of perfection in imperfection.

In this residence, an abundance of beams posed a challenge. Ben turned this obstacle into an opportunity by curving each beam, seamlessly integrating them into the intentional aesthetic of the space. Micro cement were used for flooring and lime plastering for the walls and ceilings.

Moving on to the dry kitchen area, we have a simple marble top. The sink is cleverly concealed, maintaining the sleek and minimalistic appearance, and a drawing fridge from Fisher and Paykel completes the seamless design.

Artificial greens and landscaped elements create the ambience of a private garden, evoking the essence of Bali.

The master room is simple and cosy. Ben chose not to add a bed frame but create a platform using Burmese tape, which creates the feeling of being on a yacht with resort vibes.

Lastly, Ben shares how surfing, being at the beach and travelling became inspirations for his design. He adds that he gets ideas from all over Asia, such as China, Korea and Taiwan.
