Removing internal cavities for 3D printing in Blender

Reuploaded this video without the unedited recording at the end (smooth move from me there!)

With the right techniques this can be an easy task but if you don't know them selecting individual vertices/faces is a total pain. Hopefully this video should make things as painless as possible.
