Off-highway vehicle activity has increased on Bureau of Land Management (BLM) lands nationwide, and specifically in southwestern Idaho. Human disturbances can cause golden eagle nest site abandonment or reproductive failure. In support of an adaptive management program with the BLM, Boise State raptor biology graduate student Rob Spaul examines golden eagle territory occupancy, nest site behavior and nest productivity, in relation to off-highway vehicle recreational activity and trail density.
