Arete is an ancient Greek concept referring to the “act of actualizing one’s highest sense of self with moral excellence of character.” It means that an individual should strive to pursue their passions in life, and realize their dreams regardless of their circumstances or adversities. Named one of the most influential New Jerseyans in 2015 by NJ Business Magazine, Steve Edwards is on a mission to help people find their heroes and realize their dreams through the New Jersey Hall of Fame. As president of the foundation board of trustees, he co-chaired a capital campaign raising $14 million for a state-of-the-art entertainment and learning center at the American Dream complex, and helped create inspirational exhibits throughout the state.
