Software Development is a difficult thing to do well, to be good at it, software developers need to become learning experts since learning is at the heart of what we do. How well do most certification programmes prepare us for this? How often does certification help us to develop those skills? If we want to take the next step from software development into modern software engineering, we need to learn to be great problem solvers as well as great programmers, so how do we do that?
