“This is for all the shades of skin that are blooming,
Glistening and glowing or in need of grooming.
Normalising the big spots and the teeny tiny ones too,
For skin that shines and the days where it needs a little help too.



This is for the scars and the lines,
That we learn to love and not to hide.
For the bare faces that don’t need a beauty sponge
But instead basque in natural beauty.
For everything we are, and who we are now.
For clearing the bathroom; cosied in a towel —



For clean washed faces and making time for magic moments in the mirror.
This is for more freckles and smiles that are bigger.
Stuff that settles skin, but doesn’t try to sort it.
Supports it, from sun rise till night fall,
And when asked who it’s for, replies with ‘all’.

The catching moment of confidence if ours begins to fall.
For the patches, scratches, lumps bumps and all.
I know fighting my imperfections is the only war that is worth it.
That imperfections are imperfections but who says what’s perfect?



So this is an ode to looking more for our smiles,
than always a change.
And thanking and celebrating everything that lays on your face.
So maybe, it’s time for self love to be found.
So be you. Be proud."
