Hi, I'm Ajarn Mieder and on this channel we’ll learn English in a fun, laid back way. We’ll show you how to learn English easily and effectively, and help you overcome your fear of speaking English.

In this lesson we’ll focus on vocabulary for grade 1. We will cover all the 340 high frequency words that grade-1 students need to master by the end of the academic year. Students who achieve this goal will be reading slightly above grade level and typically score in the top 25% on national reading tests.

It is extremely important that all students have completely memorized the consonant sounds for letters – b – c – d – f – g – h – j – k – l – m – n – p – q – r – s – t – v – w – x – y – z before learning these vocabulary words.


*Sight words (sw) are words, that don’t follow the rules of spelling or the six syllable types. These words do not fit standard phonetic patterns and must be memorized.
