I’m Chantel with Team Denver Homes, and today I will be doing a neighborhood review on the lovely Edgewater community. Edgewater sits between Denver, Wheat Ridge and Lakewood on the western shore of Sloan’s Lake. It runs between 17th and 27th and Sheridan, and is less than 1 square mile.

Edgewater is closely tied to the development of Sloan’s Lake. It was derived from its proximity to the water's edge. In 1889 the largest amusement park west of the Mississippi opened attracting many visitors. The following year the West Rail opened along 29th and Sheridan, and that was the start of the growing community in Edgewater, which was incorporated in 1901.

Edgewater is a little city in itself, and just a few short minutes to downtown. Edgewater has a good mix of housing, restaurants, retail shops, and plenty to do for entertainment. Edgewater has a huge public market with so many new places to explore. With so many new trendy spots to try, Edgewater also kept a lot of history and character to the small city.
