SUPER (Social-based bUsiness Process managEment framework) is extends traditional Business Process Management Systems (BPMSs) with Web 2.0 principles (tagging, social analysis, ...) This framework supports an approach that leverages social computing principles for the design and development of social business processes (aka business processes 2.0). First the approach identifies task, person, and machine as the core components of a business process. A task is a work unit that constitutes with other tasks a business process and that a person and/or machine execute at run time. Afterwards the approach enriches the business process with details captured from the execution and social relations that connect tasks together, persons together, and machines together. While the execution relations between tasks are widely reported in the literature, there is a growing interest in social relations. The approach capitalizes on social relations to build configuration network of tasks, social network of persons, and support network of machines. The networks expose the ongoing interac- tions that arise when executing business processes. A system illustrating how these networks are established and then put into action is also demonstrated in the paper.
