Описание к видео They say my holiday strategy is “unhealthy”…but the truth is they shame what they can’t control and

They say my holiday strategy is “unhealthy”…but the truth is they shame what they can’t control and criticize what they don’t understand.

Every year I see posts shaming women for planning their workouts or meals around Thanksgiving… calling it an “unhealthy relationship with food.”

Here’s the reality: Not every intentional choice is rooted in restriction, fear, or punishment.

Some of us simply understand how our bodies work, how metabolism responds, and how to feel our best during the holidays.

So here are 3 things I intentionally do on Thanksgiving that some people might label as “unhealthy”… but they’re actually the opposite:

1️⃣I train a little harder on Thanksgiving, not to “earn” food, but to use it.

High-intensity training increases insulin sensitivity and burns carbs for fuel… so when I know I’m about to enjoy more carbs, I align my training to benefit from them.

This isn’t guilt. It’s physiology.

I’m using the extra energy for muscle building and metabolic flexibility…NOT trying to “burn off” my dinner.

2️⃣ I eat a lighter, protein-rich meal earlier in the day — not to restrict, but to make room for the foods I genuinely want.

I’m not pretending I don’t want the stuffing, rolls, sweet potatoes, pie… I want all of it.

So I start the day with something that stabilizes my blood sugar and keeps me feeling good, but still lets me enjoy a big holiday meal without feeling weighed down.

3️⃣ I start my Thanksgiving meal with protein, fiber, and healthy fats — not because I’m obsessive about blood sugar, but because I like saving the best for last.

Yes, it supports blood sugar, hunger hormones, and digestion…

But honestly? I just enjoy savoring those carb-heavy holiday foods at the end.

It’s a strategy rooted in physiology, not fear.

Here’s the bigger message: a healthy relationship with food isn’t about pretending none of this matters…

It’s about making choices that support your body, not control it.

Your intentions matter. Your awareness matters. And your relationship with food is allowed to be both joyful and educated.
