Raw top to bottom POV footage of the full Wurzeralm Singletrack mountain bike trail in Oberösterreich (Upper Austria), in perfect golden autumn colours.

The trail is 5km long with a vertical descent of 637m, running from the top of Wurzeralm's funicular train at 1420m down to the base station at 821m.

Especially in Autumn it's a seriously beautiful mountain bike ride, winding through alpine meadows and gorgeous golden-leafed forests. Most of the trail is fairly straightforward and can be ridden comfortably by beginner bikers (like me!), but there are couple of trickier rock and root sections in the forests. Parts are quite rough with loose gravel too. This part of Austria doesn't have many legal mtb trails, so the Wurzeralm Singletrail is definitely worth a visit if you're in the area - especially if you combine it with the nearby Wurbauer Bikepark.

Note 1: this is a bike-only trail, but I didn't intend to get so close to the hiker. Unfortunately the loose gravel was slippy and hard to brake on, and I needed the berm to stay in control.

Note 2: I'd already spoken to the rider pumping up his tyre on an earlier lap; he was ok and didn't need any help ;)
