In this video my brother and I are going to be talking about our experience as Challenge A students in Classical Conversations. My brother is a Challenge B student, and I will be graduating Challenge IV at the end of the year. We will use our experience in the program to give you advice about Classical Conversations Challenge A, help you decide whether it is a fit for your family, whether your seventh grader should do CC, give a curriculum review, talk about some of the mistakes students made and help you avoid them, and go through all of the Challenge A strands and talk about our experience with them, how long it took to complete them each day, and how they prepared us for homeschooling in middle school and high school. We will cover the Logic (Math) strand, the Grammar (Latin) subject, the Research (Science, Science Fair, and Anatomy) strand, the Exposition (English, Literature, and Lost Tools of Writing) strand, and Debate (Geography and Cartography) but leave out Reasoning (Analogies and Fallacy Detective) since it will be removed from the curriculum in the coming year. Finally, we will wrap up and talk about how Challenge A prepared us for Challenge B, later Challenges, and (hopefully!) college as well.
