Boeing 777 Trent 800 Vs The GE90 Heathrow

#BritishAirways operate two versions of the #Boeing777 200 #airplanes. One with the #RollsRoyce #Trent800 and another version with the #GeneralElectric #GE90.

Both jets have their own unique sound profile when taking off and landing. Which do you prefer?

British Airways purchased their initial batch of 777s with the GE engine as part of a deal to open an #Engine overhaul facility in South Wales. The order when announced shocked many, with the expectation that BA would order Rolls Royce engined.

Needless to say, follow-on orders for the type saw the airline purchase the Rolls Royce Trent Engine which features the majority of the airline's heavy twinjets.

Both engine types perform superbly, offering different performance enhancements depending on the flight stage.
