Last June, a car was pulled over by West Palm Beach Florida police for failing to fully stop at a stop sign and excessive window tint. The driver was a Sovereign Citizen and demonstrated that she has already trained her 10 year-old daughter to follow in her footsteps. The child is seen lecturing the police about her rights and their authority and, even after the mother is arrested, refuses to identify herself. Police explain that protocol requires that the Department of Children and Families be notified if no relative is available to take custody of the minor. An older sister eventually shows up on scene but, although she is licensed, is not 18 and therefore not qualified to take custody of the child. Police remain on scene for nearly an hour and a half, until the child’s father eventually arrives and the child is handed over.
