This video is about the 52" Hunter 2nd Century Original Ceiling Fan in Gloss Black. It was originally bought by my grandma from Pacific Ceiling Fans in 1993, and was in the living room until 2008 when it was replaced by the 52" Hampton Bay Sibley Ceiling Fan in Vintage Brass. When I first got the fan when it was replaced in 2008, the capacitor failed, and the Rosewood side had always been kind of faded. The capacitor had been replaced with the 6uf in August of 2014, then replaced with a 7.5uf from the White 2 amp American made one in January of 2022 as @CeilingFanVideosOnYT told me it was the wrong capacitor value. This fan was installed outside in 2008 for a bit, but was taken down. It was reinstalled outside in late 2014 for Christmas after replacing the capacitor, and the paint had some wear before I knew any better about fans. This fan has since then got a touch up by spray painting the parts that had some wear on the finish (switch housing still needs a touch up). It was taken down again in September of 2017 due to a winding that failed. After 4 years of the fan sitting with a failed winding, it later has its windings replaced. Since this fan is rated at 2 amp, the new windings came off from the White 2 amp American made one I had since November of 2017 as it originally was gonna be used as a parts fan, but has since got new windings and capacitor. Then there's a pullchain problem where it smoked in April of 2022, so the pullchain was replaced. While cleaning the fan out, there's also some interesting tidbits on this fan: the switch housing is 2-piece with the bracket inside that holds the switch cap into place is mounted with screws holding the oil cup. Wires are ran inside the motor housing while maintaining the long 4" main bearing shaft rather than being ran through the top (same story for the Low Profile Originial). There's 4 screws going up through the motor housing and down into the faceplate with screw sleeves to prevent contact with the windings. This is also one of my very first Hunter Original fans I've ever own, and the very first fan to be in my collection, which made me get into fan hobby and collecting.
