​Elevation & Terrain: It sits at an altitude of about 2,414 meters (7,920 feet). The valley is a classic "hanging valley" carved by glacial action, characterized by expansive grasslands (margs), dense deodar and pine forests, and a backdrop of jagged, snow-capped peaks.
​The Lidder Connection: The village is situated on the left bank of the Aru River, a primary tributary that joins the West Lidder River. The confluence of these glacial streams creates the fertile, emerald-green basin that makes the area so picturesque.
