The Octarians have definitely returned to wreck havoc on the Inklings. This includes their elite counterparts: The Octolings!

Like in Splatoon 1's Hero Mode, if you're put into a stage that you'd only see in Multiplayer, you're gonna be fighting some Octolings.

Your goal is still to find the Zapfish, but this stage works differently on that matter. You must instead gather 8 mini-Zapfish, which have the power of 1 normal-sized one. You can get them in any order you want, but once you get the 8th and last one, the stage is beaten. So if you want to hold off on that to find the Sardinum and Sunken Scroll, then by all means go for it. Since you're in a multiplayer stage, you won't travel too far away from your start, here, so you'll have to search every nook and cranny for them, even if it means replacing enemy ink with your own to uncover boxes from the ground.

The Octolings have their own spawn point, but don't spread themselves out throughout stage if they have to regenerate like that. Once you've cleared them out and nabbed any containers near their spawn point, you should be alright for the rest of the stage.

This stage's Sunken Scroll reminds you that Annie, the first game's headgear seller, now has an online service to buy any of your gear from. And you can actually do this one you smartphone if you have SplatNet 2. Order a gear from there and then talk to Murch on Inkopolis Square to buy and receive the order.

Anyway... onto the second boss!
