In proportion to the number of working people, Berlin's rate of new businesses is twice as high as the German average. Grit Hofmann and Dan Hirschfeld met some of the business founders, including two whose men's business clothing company took off a year ago. And the Cruso company, which produces navigation devices for pedestrians - maps, compasses, and travel guides - has 20 employees and can almost regard itself as "established".
