This special 17" Tenor Ukulele for Joe Scott​ to be a matched set to accompany Joe's 'Cello Guitar'.
The maple for this 'Cello Uke' is made from the off cuts of the 'Cello Guitar', which in turn was made from the off cuts of a custom Cello for Hannah Alkire​ by world renowned Cello maker Christopher Dungey​ (www.dungeycello.com).
Chris happens to live only 10 minutes away from me!!!

Woods used for all 3 instruments (Cello, Guitar and Uke) were taken from the same 3 trees:

Top:
Engelmann Spruce from the eastern side of the Oregon Cascade mountains that Chris felled himself in 1982. The section of wood used for the guitar was taken from further towards the top of the tree where the grain was tighter compared to the cello top.

Back/Sides:
Highly figured maple felled in 1986- Both instruments use this same billet of maple.

Neck:
Highly figured maple- same wood as used for the cello and guitar necks.
