Whilst (like all new updates with Niantic) there is some controversy about the new Rare Kinetic Capsules and how easy they do or don’t make the game, here is how I intend to use them initially.

The concept of over-deploying is not new, but for players who don’t often see lower level portals or get to deploy, the Kinetic Capsule is invaluable in making sure you have enough resonators to deploy, if not over-deploy when you do see greys.

Now, with the new Rare Kinetic Capsules, it means players can have 280 (7x40) level 1 resonators stored without them clogging inventories before arriving at hostile or neutral location. This is invaluable when storage becomes a hinderance (if for instance, you’re running a 51 anchor decay engine and using approximately 1,500 keys a week to complete your mind-controller onyx medal).

Over-deploying successfully gives you 45 deploys per portal which is an enormous increase from the standard 8. For those of you looking for onyx Builder medal, it’s a great tactic and it’s something I’ll be doing until that happens.
