Alzheimer's disease patients may soon be able to get a faster, cheaper and more accurate detection of their condition. NUS researchers have developed a system where just a tiny drop of blood is used and the brain disorder, as well as mild cognitive impairment, can be detected in less than an hour. Sixty samples can be tested simultaneously, and it costs $30 per blood test, which is less than 1 percent of the cost of doing PET imaging.
