If you’ve shared a carousel post on Instagram that includes multiple photos or videos and later want to delete just one of them, Instagram now allows you to do this without having to delete the entire post. This feature is useful for removing a single image that’s outdated, incorrectly uploaded, or simply no longer needed—without affecting the rest of your content.

To delete one picture from a multi-photo Instagram post, open the Instagram app and go to your profile. Find the carousel post you want to edit and tap on it. Once the post opens, tap the three-dot menu icon in the top-right corner of the post. From the list of options, tap on “Edit.”

When you enter edit mode, swipe through the images until you reach the one you want to remove. You’ll see a small trash bin icon in the top-left or bottom-left corner of the selected image (depending on your app version). Tap this trash icon next to the specific image you want to delete. Instagram will ask you to confirm that you want to delete the image—tap “Delete” to proceed.

Once you’ve deleted the image(s) you no longer want, tap the checkmark or the arrow icon in the top-right corner to save your changes. The post will update instantly, showing only the remaining images. Your likes, comments, and caption will remain intact, as will the order of the remaining photos.

Keep in mind this feature may not be available on all devices or older app versions, so make sure your Instagram app is updated to the latest version through the App Store or Play Store.
