I am sure there are lots of people who have never conducted their own audit before wondering what it would be like to go out and audit a place for themselves!

Auditing is a controversial activity therefore, it is my intention to create an online experience for any person who has thought about attempting their own audit, but don't think auditing is something for them to intentionally do. This is where I come in by playing the roll of a security guard.

You the viewer on the other hand, will have the opportunity to telephone in to the live streamed show with an online audience who will probably be taking the micky out of both you and myself due to the fact, they probably would do things differently than the way we do!

Coming soon… It could be you the viewer playing the roll of the auditor, without leaving the comfort of your own home.

Virtual Auditing is something that is safe, and could be fun as you pit your own auditing interaction against myself playing the role of the security guard with every intention to stop you in your activity as an auditor.

Before an online audit starts, you will be given five choices for the kind of security guard you want to encounter. Your choices will be;

Security guard who is rude and cheeky!
Security guard who thinks they know how to do their job!
Security guard who thinks they are a know it all but actually know nothing!
Security guard who is polite at all times but only has random knowledge of their job!
Security guard who is considered reasonable while performing their role how they are supposed to!

In the virtual video you interact with, you will have to identify and bear in mind your proximity from the video as follows;

Are you auditing in or on on private property!
Are you auditing in a public space in or on private property!
Are you auditing in a public space that is not deemed in or on private property!

You can rest assured, the security guard amongst other things will be challenging you on the location at the time you are challenged!

After the virtual audit interaction has finished, the call will be ended. What happens next will be an opportunity for viewers to then take part in a live phone in to talk about the virtual interaction that just took place. If it turns out to be successful, there will be another virtual audit opportunity with a different video for one of the remaining four security guard options and eventually over a five week period, the intention is to have all security guard options depleted from the available list. First come, first served...

If you are interested, once the shaw goes live on YouTube, the viewer will see a telephone number shown on the screen to ring in live…

First caller to ring in, will be asked to introduce themselves and tell the viewers where they are from.

A short interview about your views on auditing.

You will then choose the type of security guard you want to encounter, and the virtual video will then start.

As the video plays, you will talk about what you see in the video and add your own content as if you are the one holding the camera as you walk through the virtual scene.

At some point without you knowing, the security guard will approach you and then you will be challenged about what you are doing. Every word of your telephone conversation will also be going out live to the viewing audience.

When the security guard engages with you, there will be both our voices heard by the viewers on YouTube as if they was watching somebody else's live audit. This is where we both potentially make a fool out of ourselves based on the fact, the viewers would probably have done something different than ourselves!

It's new, it's creative, and I believe it may be a challenging entertainment pass time for those who like the idea of auditing who have wondered what it is like to have a go yourself... If it works out the way I think it will, it should be at least a little bit of fun, if not educational...!

Unfortunately, I come across my first obstacle obtaining the footage needed. The challenging task was to get the footage needed without it turning in to an actual interaction outside the randomly chosen premises that I had chosen to be the online virtual backdrop! It did not go the way I wanted it to go, but sometimes you have just got to go with the flow…

The day was 25 February 2021... I ventured out to capture some video footage for the upcoming online virtual interaction scenario, unfortunately it ended up to what some may say, an actual audit for DPD!
