In this "Know Your Expert" segment, Holly Hamilton interviews landscape architect Billy Goodnick about his love for gardening (can you say Banzai Master?) and how he transitioned from his passion as a drummer into landscape architecture. Billy also explains how he got his start travelling, writing and sharing with people some "pieces of knowledge" his learned through the years. Borne out of a necessity, he also developed a class in adult education back in the 1980’s called "Gone with the Wind- What to do with your drought-stricken lawn”. He started teaching people what kind of process a professional designer would use so they could enhance their own garden. Does this sound like a unique approach to gardening or what? Fine Gardening Magazine thought so and picked up his blogger insights and now carries his snarky voice to a larger "field" of readers. His latest book is called Yards.
