👋🏼 Hello! Today, Jiji goes to Ashikaga Flower Park in Ashikaga, Japan.

We filmed during the Great Wisteria Festival 大藤まつり that lasted for about a month (April 13 to May 15). The Ashikaga Flower Park is open all year round, but the price and opening time vary throughout the duration of the festival. We went during the Golden Week (one of the major holidays in Japan) and the park was filled with people. It got even busier in the evening when the flowers and trees became illuminated. And even though it is towards late spring, we still got to witness a lot of wisteria in full bloom and in different colors. We read that the park gained popularity from anime that was inspired by this park. (Maybe it was Demon Slayer since wisteria flowers are significant in the narrative) But many wisteria enthusiasts also visit this park because it has one of the biggest wisteria collections in the world. Some of the main attractions are the 160-year old wisteria tree that spreads over tatami trellis area and an 80-meter long wisteria tunnel.

📍 ASHIKAGA FLOWER PARK is a flower park located in Ashikaga City, Tochigi Prefecture, Japan. It is famous for its wisteria flowers, which are in full bloom from mid-April to mid-May. The park also has many other flowers, such as roses, azaleas, and peonies, which bloom throughout the year. The park is open year-round, but the best time to visit is during the wisteria festival, when the park is illuminated at night.
