All valuations were correct at the time of broadcast. "This is miniaturism gone completely mad." This lady's father was a doctor, and he was given this stunning little vase as a thank-you gift by one of his former patients. Ceramics expert Lars Tharp pores over the item, showing us the incredible detail with which the piece has been painted. It is, as he reflects, an extreme example of a 'miniaturist piece,' with imagery so fine that you can even see the details of lobster and shellfish within the painting. The experts from Antiques Roadshow take a look at some fantastic antiques and the history and stories surrounding them. This clip was filmed in Edinburgh in 2005.
