Room Descriptions in ASL

Описание к видео Room Descriptions in ASL

You are possibly wondering how I start by describing a room and the contents inside the room. We have a guide! The following are five sequences when describing a room and its contents:

1) When you are describing a room and the contents inside a room, you must always label what room. For instance, my bedroom, my children’s bathroom, kitchen, living room, and any other rooms. It would be best if you always started with what room you are planning to describe.

2) What colors are the wall? Is it green? Beige? Neon orange? Any colors on the wall and what it looks like. Maybe the top part of a wall is white and the bottom is beige?

3) Where the windows, pictures, mirrors, bookshelves are located on the wall? For instance, on this wall, the two windows are located on the left side of the door. Another example, the two bookshelves on the left side of the door and the mirror is on the right side of the door.

4) What does the floor look like? Is it a wooden floor? Carpet flooring? Possibly a rug on the wooden floor? Describe the type of flooring you may have.

5) Where is the furniture set up? To give you an example of a couch on the far right side with a television mounted on a wall on the other side and a coffee table in the center.

Provide an example of describing a room with contents. This guest bedroom. The walls are white with designs of lines. Where’s the window? It is located on the right wall by the bed. The floors are wooden and the bed is on a rug. There are two side tables with table lamps between the bed. A couple of chairs on the left side of the bed close to a dresser. On top of the dresser are a table lamp and a picture frame.
