Brooklyn born and bred, Marcus Miller’s decades-long career has transcended genres, lending his talents to the likes of Michael Jackson, Eric Clapton, LL Cool J, Beyoncé, Jean-Michel Jarre, Luther Vandross, and many more. After cutting his teeth balancing a 15-year stint as a session artist and playing in the Saturday Night Live band, his skills would be employed on more than 500 recordings, netting him numerous Grammy Award nominations, including two wins: one for his work on Luther Vandross’s “Power of Love” in 1992 and one for his 2001 album, M2, for Best Contemporary Jazz Album.
