How to Solve 12 Piece SiamMandalay Lock It Up Burr Puzzle

Hello guys, welcome back to another video. In today's video, I will be showing you guys how to solve the SiamMandalay Lock it Up Puzzle. This puzzle is a 12 piece burr puzzle that has a wood ball inside it. The goal is to take the wooden ball out by taking the whole structure apart and put the whole thing back again with the wooden ball inside. Without further ado, let's start by taking apart the puzzle.

Start by looking around the puzzle until you find two pieces that turn. Once you find these pieces turn them so that they allow the pieces on top to move. Now slide out the pieces on top. Now after moving those 2 pieces you should have an idea and you can start taking out pieces on your own until the structure is fully disassembled.

Before we put the puzzle back together it will be easier for us to sort the pieces so we can identify which pieces to put in and what not to put in. We will have 5 groups. A, B, C, D, E, and finally F. For the A group. The pieces look like this and there are 2. The B group pieces look like this and also have 2 pieces. The group C pieces look like this also having 2 pieces, Group D pieces look like this having 2 pieces in this group and group E pieces look like this while having 4 pieces in the group instead of the normal 2. Finally, we have group F which is just the round ball.

Now that we have organized all the pieces into groups that we manage let's start putting the wooden puzzle back together.

Start by getting 1 piece from the C group and 1 piece from the D group and form them together so that u have a small rectangle on top and a big square at the bottom. Do this with the remaining C and D pieces. Now after creating both parts face them away from each other so that the smooth parts look at each other. Now take one of the E pieces and add it to one of ur C and D pairs so that it creates a smooth surface and u have small notches on the side. Do this with both pairs. Now keep them in the same formation and get another piece inset another E piece thru here on both sides. When u put them in they should be smooth.

Now orient ur puzzle back to its original position. When the insides of the C, D pairs were smooth and looking at each other. Then turn each piece out and add in the ball. Now take your two B pieces and put them on the front and the back so that they are flush with the sides of the puzzle. Now finally add in the A pieces on the sides and turn the B pieces so that the whole puzzle is locked into place.
