When Francesco Totti scored his first goal for Roma, Cristiano Ronaldo was 7 years old, Lionel Messi was 4, and Neymar was 1 month old.

Despite this, Totti remained relevant in the world of football well into the age of Messi and Ronaldo and only retired a couple of years ago.

Well known as ‘L’ottavo Re Di Roma’, the eight King of Rome, Totti was true to the name. In a career that spanned over 25 years, he only ever had played for one club. A club that he’s become so synonymous with, that it’s hard to think of one without the other.

Totti is the second highest goal scorer in Serie A history, one of the greatest players in the history of Italian football, and surely the greatest Roma player to ever live.

But to those that did not have the privilege of watching Totti in his prime or are simply unaware of how prolific he once was, all these claims mean very little without any evidence.
