Peak Rex Stout? The Doorbell Rang Review

Just a quick look at one of my favorite Wolfe novels, "The Doorbell Rang."

Basically, it's Nero Wolfe vs. the FBI.

First published in 1965, it helped to expose and spread the methods that the FBI was using--unlawfully--to surveil the American public back then!

What we get is a fun and extremely interesting story where the murder is almost incidental to the shenanigans that Wolfe cooks up and executes. The whole book is a great read from start to finish, with some timeless scenes and an amazing payoff.

Highly recommended to anyone who isn't allergic to murder mysteries.
