Some people tackle home renovation projects on their own to save a few bucks, but there's a reason why professionals make the money that they do. Because if you don't do certain things right, at the very least the work will have to be redone, at the worst it could cost someone their life. I've seen walls of tiles falling apart done by nonprofessionals, and it only takes one tile to fall on someone's head and kill them, especially a child. If you don't know what you're doing and you don't understand the behaviour of certain materials, then you should think twice about doing certain jobs. Just because you can doesn't mean you should. And if you have no idea what you're doing and then you have no business doing it. People get hurt because other people do lousy work, and there is no excuse, especially if it has anything to do with saving money.
