Battle of Tanore

After the death of Sultan Sikandar Shah, Nasrat Shah took the masnad of Pandua under the name Shyamshuddin II. On the other hand, another son of Sikandar, Ghiyasuddin Azim Shah, declared himself an independent Sultan outside Pandua and sought the help of Ganesha Narayan, king of Bhaturia, to invade Gaur. Ganesha accepted the help and started arranging logistics and troops for the war. A total of thirty- two thousand soldiers attacked Gaur with twenty thousand soldiers from his own state and twelve thousand soldiers from neighboring states.

On the northern route of Chalanbil, the military campaign started from Satgara towards Gaur. Meanwhile, Azim Shah was on his way to the south after being chased by the enemy.
He fled towards Bhaturia. Ganesh's army intercepted Nasrat Shah's Shahi army near Tanor. A fierce battle ensued between the two sides and Azim Shah was either killed or, according to some accounts, killed by Ganesh himself.
Nasrat Shah now attacked Ganesh but was killed in the battle with Ganesh. This incident took place in 787 Hijri.
