From being told her business was “just a hobby” to building one of India’s most successful fashion brands, Anita Dongre has never let gender norms define her. In this powerful episode, Anita shares how she built House of Anita Dongre—home to AND, Global Desi, and her eponymous bridal label—despite coming from a conservative background where her father was told, “Beti ki kamaai khaa rhe ho aap.” She opens up about financial independence, rejection, and how fashion can empower women.
Her son, Yash Dongre, now an integral part of the business, shares how growing up in a feminist household shaped his views on leadership, relationships, and the future of fashion. From Anita’s first 200 sqft store to a ₹1,000 Cr+ empire, this conversation is about grit, vision, and breaking barriers.
