AUSTRALIA DAY WOLLONGONG SHELLHARBOUR FLYOVER

Описание к видео AUSTRALIA DAY WOLLONGONG SHELLHARBOUR FLYOVER

Spectacular sight when 5 vintage aircraft from the Historical Aircraft Restoration Society Air Museum took off from Shellharbour Airport, NSW Australia on 26 Jan 2024 to celebrate Australia day.

The Aircraft took off in turn at approximately 9am and flew along the coast from shellharbour to Wollongong and returned to the airport.

Vintage aircraft involved :-

AP-3C Lockheed Orion a former RAAF (Royal Australian Air Force) maritime surveillance aircraft that undertook many varied operational tasks when in service.

Lockheed SP-2H (P2V-7) Neptune. A former RAAF long range maritime patrol aircraft.

Grumman S-2G Tracker 844 . A former Royal Australian Navy maritime anti submarine warfare aircraft

Dakota DC3 VH-AES

UH-1B Huey Iroquois RAN Helicopter no 898

The airport action was very hectic just before 9am at the Museum with all the aircraft starting up , running up their engines , taxing to their designated positions , taking off with the Tracker doing a touch and go and the subsequent landing of all aircraft soon after their flights along the Wollongong coast, it was hard to catch footage of the aircraft at times. Unfortunately I missed the great Dakota DC3 taking off and landing due to the busy flight timetable on the day.

Turn up your sound to hear the powerful 4 x 4600 SHP great Allison T56 engines starting up. Its a great sound !
