Magnetic Conductor.

A magnetic conductor. A magnetic conductor is a part or a kit of parts intended for a lossy magnetic flow generated with current in windings of such devices as transformers, throttles, magnetic cartridges, filters and circuits. If considering a construction magnetic conductors are divided into three groups: sheet, ribbon and formed. Sheet conductors represent packets of formed flat sheets. They can be of two types: armored and bar. Ribbon conductors represent round rings or square rings with rounded corners. Unsplit ribbon conductors have better magnet characteristics in comparison with split ribbon and sheet ones; because the latter will inevitably have air gap and partial end surface lock in future. But unsplit ribbon magnetic conductors have the following disadvantages: complicity and great labour intensity while winding. Split ribbon conductors have the advantage because bobbins for them can be produced in usual winding machines. Formed magnetic conductors consist of one or several solid 3D parts made of powder magnetodielectric materials or ferrites using ceramic processing technology.
