Dr. Jasser Auda’s lecture: “A History of the Development of the Objectives of Islamic Law (Maqasid)” was delivered during the Eighth Training Course on Maqāṣid of Islamic Sharīʿah, which was organized by the Centre for the Study of the Philosophy of Islamic Law (Maqāṣid Centre) at Al-Furqān Foundation, in collaboration with both the Islamic Cultural Centre and the Sharīʿah Councils of the UK, entitled “The Objectives of Sharīʿah: the Principles and Concepts”, between the 30th of November and the 3rd of December 2013, the Centre for the Study of the Philosophy of Islamic Law (Maqāṣid Centre) at Al-Furqān Foundation,.
