We go over an easy fix for a mower that dies when taking the parking brake off, when you put it in gear, engage the blades or move the arms in.

If this is happening to your mower you are experiencing and issue like seen in the video or an issue with one of the safety switches.

Rarely we see a bad / pinched wire or another issue cause these same symptoms.

The video here is on testing safety switches on a riding mower but they are exactly the same designs on most zero turns

We also find an issue where the mower will not move even though the drive belt is good and the hydro pumps are engages the mower will still not move.

We show how to repair the parking brakes on a zero turn or riding mower

After fixing this second issue we notice the drive belt and idler pulley definitely show some signs of going out soon so we get them replaced also.
