How to fix De Quervain's Tenosynovitis At Home | Ed Paget

Описание к видео How to fix De Quervain's Tenosynovitis At Home | Ed Paget

De Quervain's Tenosynovitis is a painful condition that affects the area on the thumb side of the wrist. Symptoms include pain over that area when you rotate your forearm, pick things up or try and do a pushup.

An easy test to see if you have DeQuervain's tenosynovitis is Finkelstein's test. However sometimes it can give a negative test (it isn't' painful) but you still have the problem.
In some cases the pain will come with wrist extension and on weight bearing. It’s important to rule out other causes of wrist pain like fractures and ligament tears. The pain is caused by irritation to the tendon as they pass under tight tissues into the wrist.

Here is what is in the video:
1:00 Over view of what De Quervain's Tenosynovitis is and how to test for it.
2:00 Exercise 1 - whole arm stretch on floor to help loosen muscles of arm and wrist.
2:20 Exercise 2 Whole arm stretch kneeling
3:07 Exercise 3 Supination Exercise using a resistance bar
3:40 Exercise 4 strengthening with a resistance bar.
4.25 Exercise 5 Forearm stretch with rotation
5:33 Exercise 6 Forearm massage

Follow these 6 steps through and you will start to notice a change. Don't worry if it is painful when you do the exercises. But you will know if you have over done it if the wrist is more painful the next day...that is a sign of increased irritation.
