Taal Volcano in the Philippines is one of the most unique volcanic formations on Earth! 🌋🔥 Located on the island of Luzon, this active volcano sits inside Taal Lake, which itself is the crater of an ancient supervolcano. Even crazier, within Taal Volcano is another lake—with its own island!

Taal has erupted more than 30 times since the 1500s, with some of the most destructive eruptions happening in 1754, 1911, and 1965. Its most recent major eruption in January 2020 sent ash clouds as far as Manila, reminding everyone of its power. Despite its dangers, Taal remains a popular tourist attraction, offering stunning views and a look at one of nature’s wildest designs.
