The Hoëgne river is located in the High Fens and is a fantastic water stream of 30 km long. What makes this river so characteristic are the small water rapids and the dark color of the water. There is a lot of iron in the soil and this causes the brown color.
To enter the parking lot, you drive a short distance by car through the river, it is already a great start to the adventure.

De Hoëgne rivier is gelegen in de Hoge Venen en is een fantastische waterstroom van 30 km lang. Wat deze rivier zo kenmerkend maakt zijn de kleine waterversnellingen en de donkere kleur van het water. Er zit namelijk veel ijzer in de grond en dit veroorzaakt de bruine kleur. Om de parking op te rijden, ga je met de auto een klein stukje door de rivier , het is alvast een toffe start van het avontuur.
