Director Kim Han-min, starting with the 2014 film "Battle of Noryang", which portrayed Admiral Yi Sun-sin, considered a hero in South Korea, planned a trilogy focusing on Yi Sun-sin. The trilogy consists of "Battle of Myeongnyang," "Battle of Hansan," and "Battle of Noryang". and the unique aspect of this trilogy is that different actors portray the protagonist, Yi Sun-sin, in each part. In the first part, "Battle of Myeongnyang", Choi Min-sik of "Oldboy" (2003) portrayed Yi Sun-sin, while in the second part, "Decision to Leave" (2022), Park Hae-il took on the role. In this third part of the trilogy, actor Kim Yun-seok played the role of Yi Sun-sin. The film's production cost is 31 million dollars, making it the second-highest budget Korean film after "Parasite" (2019), directed by the renowned Bong Joon-ho, following his film "Snowpiercer."
