This video shows a step-by-step procedure for performing maintenance on the ESI Capillary for Shimadzu’s LCMS-TQ RX Series. A high voltage is applied to the sample solution sprayed from the tip of the capillary in order to ionize the sample. Since a very fine-gauge pipe is used in the capillary, if any very small pieces of dirt get into the mobile phase or the sample, they can cause blockage which will lead to a rise in the pump pressure. If this happens, replace the capillary according to the instructions in the video.
