Day 7 - Hehe, how sad the number 7 sounds. It was also that kind of day because I am leaving the next day! Woke up at 5 in the morning. While I had so much fun traveling and exploring places in Varkala alone, I got a chance to be with the wonderful girls in the hostel :)

Aparna took us to the mangrove forest and Muroe Island. So we started off our journey. As always, I took the front seat. I do not know why. Sometimes I doubt, am I so comfortable with myself that it always allows me to be isolated, or is it something else? Anyway, sometimes over-questioning makes it only complicated. So I sat in the front, made friends with the driver bhayya while everyone else was dancing and having super fun. Periods are one reason for me not getting up and shaking my booty, and I also didn’t get a chance to connect with the girls, so I was feeling shy to get up and dance. So I sat in the seat and moved a little bit to the beats.

It was raining left and right, and I never thought it’d be so much fun to visit the island during the rainy season. So we are already in the boat and except for me, no one was wearing a raincoat. One reason being, I hate to get drenched, two, I am costly, sorry, my gadgets are costly, so I cannot take a risk. So I had to carry an umbrella also on top of it for my gadgets. We were on two boats, playing some amazing new and old Malayalam songs and vibing to them while I was capturing, and everyone else was being captured for the memories to cherish in the future. The view, the rain, the trees, and me in the boat – I can’t express how peaceful it was.

After 40 minutes, we reached a mangrove tree and slowly started to climb, literally like monkeys. But before we did, we made a dance reel haha!!! That was so impromptu ;) So everyone chose their own big and strong branches, and we spent some time there. Aparna explained the water, the mangrove trees, and their amazing benefits and specialties!!!! We clicked pictures, videos, and slowly climbed down. Then we headed to another spot where everyone could swim. But poor me, who is still using sanitary pads, couldn’t get down, but yeah, I sat there, sang, clicked some pictures, and had my time there. I stood like a tall tree there in the middle of the water; that resembled me somehow. What say? Stand tall, no matter what :)

After they had super fun swimming in the water, we started back. The path was so serene, underpass paths, wow… like never before experience!! The moment we reached, I used the loo and without a second thought, I took my plate and started eating – appam and egg roast!! Waking up early is a bliss and also a curse haha, because our hunger cannot wait lol. Then we headed back to House of Surf. Everyone was so tired and rested, and we reached. I took an hour’s rest and was feeling hungry, and it was already 1 PM. So I heard about this cafe called Magnolia near Odayam Beach. Didn’t feel like having a heavy meal, so I had a sandwich. Was it so tasty, or was it because I was hungry? Whatever it was, it was yummy. Had half a cup of tea and went back!

Chilled at Azru’s place, and at 6 PM, I took my bike to visit another cafe called “True Thomas.” But the route I chose was scary. My heart skipped a beat when I felt someone was following me. Oh god, that was a nightmare because the bunch of boys at every corner scared the shit out of me, and I decided that I’d never trust maps again! 🫡 Reached True Thomas, just had a samosa there. Sat there for a while, and I really liked the vibe of the cafe! While I was really keen to know the story behind it, there was nobody at the time to explain. Anyway, I will get to know about it soon!

From there, I went to a veg restaurant and met Minal, Naveena, and Diya to spend some time before I leave. Had a cup of coffee there and reached home!! Calling it not just a day but “WHAT A DAY”. Thanks, Aparna and all the girls, and the universe for making me part of this journey and giving me lifetime experiences!! - Cheers, and one last vlog will be out soon!!!
